Dental Bridges giving me pain

please help

I have just had extensive perm bridge work, top and bottom left and right side of my jaw fully bridged due to missing teeth. After a month the pain was so bad all over my jaw i went back to the dentist and they adjusted my bite as no infection could be found. This worked a treat and the pain retreated down to a dim annoying pain as apposed to waking me up in the middle of the night in agony pain. 1 week  on and i have still have this dim pain and my detist refuses 2 do anymore work so not to overadjust my bite. she says this pain is normal and will go away in time as my roots are still under trauma. I just wanted a second opinion as its been 5 weeks now, does it usualy take this long for them to settle down??? i know there is no infection and the pain now is minimal compared to what is was but im still taking a few painkillers everyday and i want to stop. How long before it should settle?

Thanks

Thanks for your advice, i may just follow up.

In you experience is this normal after 5 weeks though? it is improving, however i will not leave home without my iburprofen in fear of a pain attack. Does it sometimes take time to heal?

thanks

Seeing an occlusionist or prosthodontist to adjust occlusion of new restorations is advised.

You should not still be having pain, and having to take pain medication.  IF you feel the pain is subsiding, then maybe she caused a lot of trauma to the root.  But if when you don't take pain medication it hurts, something isn't right.  Only you know if it's getting better, and if it is then it may be fine with time.  If not, you need to demand that she correct whatever is wrong.
