Dental work & dizzyness

I am over it! I think I have decided to let all my teeth rot out of my head before I go through this again. For the last 4 yrs, every single time I have dental work done and get a novocaine injection I get the worst bout of feeling AWFUL that lasts for weeks. The first time was over a root canal. Had sinus infection that left me taking antibotics for 6 weeks and I was dizzy and unbalanced most of the 6 weeks. Now I have had a crown done and the dizzyness is back, only the antibotics are taking for ever to work. I hate this. Does anyone else out there go through this when they go to the dentist? I am fine while sitting still or laying down as long as I don't move my head. The minute I move my head or try and walk, I look like I am drunk!

That's an unusual situation.  I haven't heard of that before lasting for such a long period of time.  Sometimes patients do feel disorientated or light headed after extensive dental work and being in a dental chair but not lasting 6 weeks.

Have you attempted to try different types of anesthetics to see if there may be one thats more suitable for you?

have you thought that perhaps you happen to be allergic to Novocaine?
it can happen, I suddenly became allergic to of all things, penicillin! after years of being able to take it.
its worth checking with your doctor and perhaps the dentist can use another method of taking care of your teeth.
