I am experiencing a rather severe discomfort with my new dentures. I cannot even eat because they seem to take up all the room in my mouth. Per the dentist's instructions, I wore them for 2 days and slept without them until then. It was almost impossible to get them back in. It was very painful, and they hit my gums in many spots. The lower front needs to be shaved a bit as they hit my gum to a point where it is raw skin now. My tongue is sore on the right side from rubbing against the upper inside.
I can hardly form words due to the overall thickness and the large area the upper pallet plate covers. The palate also prevents me from tasting anything.
I've researched this and there seem to be three (3) remedies. Use a different lab to get a "thinner" material and cure the plastic material in a different manner and/or use a "flexible" material, which is also available. As it stands now, I haven't eaten anything but liquids for 3 days. I think they need to be redone using a thinner and more flexible material. Can anyone lend some input on this?
