Haven't been to the DDS in a LONG time

My teeth are in really good shape, it seems, but there is a problem.  I assume I have some sort of minor tooth decay because now and then I have a molar that hurts.  The pain comes and goes and is minor, but it's usually pretty sensitive to cold liquids or foods and sometimes it even feels weird when I breathe in through my mouth.  Mainly it's more of an "ache" when I bite down on things.

The thing is, I don't like people messing around with my mouth.  At all.

Is it possible for the dentist to put me under completely just to clean my teeth and do a filling if necessary?  Is this common?

Hello,
I hadnt gone to the dentist in years!!!  always had good teeth and never a cavity.  Anyway I did find a Dentist who does sedation dentistry, I found him online.  I had a cleaning and five small cavities filled, xrays, and impressions for a night guard as I grind my teeth.  It was expensive, I get my night gurard on the 27 of April.  I would suggest it!! you are aware but so relaxed and just outof it.  It took about 3hrs.  My Dentist gave me a valium to take the night before, a anti anxiety 1hr before the appt, and then he gave me stuff" while I was in the chair.  He did say I have very clean teeth, and now just sees me having my 6mos cleaning,  do something because you dont want to loose your teeth.  Again its called "SEDATION DENTISTRY" google it and find a qualified Dentist in your area!!
Good luck!

Find a dentist in your dental network and call them. Ask them if they do this or not. After you get it done, you should go and have your teeth cleaned every 6 months to prevent gum disease. Did you have a bad experience?
