IMO your perio is right. Once the fracture gets below the gumline the tooth usually cannot be saved. As this is an supporting tooth for a bridge, you would need an implant on the other side also. Implants can only be bridged to another implant.
They are, IMO that best way to go though. With care, the can last a lifetime.'
