Please help!!

I posted here a couple of days ago regarding my extractions and the new bottom denture that I had done last Friday.  Well, I have been out of town since Monday and have not been able to get in for any type of adjustments to the bottom denture that is covering the wounds from the the three extractions and the insertion of the bone grafts.  Now I have noticed that everywhere the bottom denture sits on the gum, I have painful sores, reddness, and of course, unbearable pain.  Just removing the denture to rinse with the salt water and then replacing it nearly kills me.

Any suggestions that I can do until Monday when I can get in to see the dentist?

yes this is VERY normal fro dentures, espically in the first few months of having them. you will be in for LOTS of adjustments, i used to have patients come in EVERYDAY for an adjusment until we finally got it just right

it might feel good when at dentist, hen you get home and realize you need more adjustments......

i agree with gellia, will get better soon doll

Hi,
Well, you definitely need an adjustment.  You have to get to the dentist and have him fix those for you.

In the meantime there isn't much you can do except rinse gently with warm salt water (1/4 tsp in 8oz of warm water).  That will help to harden the gums a bit and promote healing.

Once you get your denture "tweaked" a bit, it should be more comfortable.

Good luck.  It takes a bit, but they should be fine soon.
Best to you,
Gellia
