HI, I HAVE A MEDIUM SIZE RED SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TONGUE, I NOTICED IT ABOUT THREE DAYS AGO, BUT IT WASN'T HURTING BAD, RIGHT NOW, I CAN BARELY SWALLOW, DRINK OR EAT ANYTHING BECAUSE IT HURTS BAD, IF FEELS LIKE WHEN YOU BURN YOUR TONGUE EATING OR DRINKING SOMETHING REALLY HOT, BUT WORSE, IT IS THE SIZE OF A DIME, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT COULD IT BE?, THANKS!!!
Usually geographic tongue is a permanent thing and is benign. I am wondering if you have an inhalant for your asthma. If you do this may be a possible causitive factor. I am not sure why the nature of the saliva changes. I think a visit to an oral surgeon might be beneficial for you.
