Root Canal

I just got home from a started procedure of a root canal from my dentist, however, as he started he placed thinks in my mouth that totally made me gag!  Finally, he began drilling, once we got me set.  He only got to one canal and the smell was awful, so bad, I nearly threw up!! He had to stop and take the crap out of my mouth.  Needless to say, he referred me to an endodontist. I couldn't take it, was my dentist not qualified enough or did he not have the correct equipment to perform this procedure??  Should I have gone directly to the Endodontist?  I have a root canal done on another tooth, behind the one my dentist tried to fix and i had it done at the endodontist.  I did not remember the smell as being so bad? How will I get through the root canal at the endodontist? Does he have better equipment so the smell does not go directly into my nose and make me gag? How did I get through the last one?

Is the Endodontist going to be able to take care of this tooth?

TRAUMATIZED IN NY..

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The bad smells may be from the tooth itself.  Sometimes when tissue dies inside the tooth, the bacteria builds up and when we open it, it can release all the bad gases out of it.  Since your dentist opened it, it should have relieved some of it so hopefully it won't be as bad next time.

I think your concerns should be addressed with the endodontist yourself.  He may be able to show you what equipment he plans to use to help you

Dental equipment has really gone the changes it needs as more and more patients are relying on their equipment. Although the market and needs for different dental equipment is just small compared to the medical field, but it is undeniably a need most people rely on. The growth of this need is also connected to those baby boomers that already have kids, thus ensuring that their kids’ teeth are well-taken care off just like their own.

Thank you, I believe this is my answer and hopefully the endodontist will be able to soften the blow, if you know what I mean.
