Tooth and jaw ache

I have been getting jaw ache for a while, and I thought it might be due to tooth grinding as I tend to clench my jaw when I'm stressed. But recently it has got worse and worse and I went to the dentist on Christmas eve to be told I have a tooth infection in one of my top molars. I had root canal on a bottom molar not that long ago too and this tooth feels odd too.

I have been taking antibiotics and pain killers and the severe pain has dulled down but my jaw and facial muscles all still ache terribly. It is really horrible, constant discomfort that makes me feel sick and depressed. I can't bear the thought of having this pain indefinitely. What could it be? Is it possible that it is related to the tooth infection, or do I need to learn to relax my jaw? It's driving me literally crazy. Sometimes I feel like my whole face, jaw and neck are throbbing.

Any advice very much appreciated!

Was the root canal completed?  If so, it may take some time for it to settle down due to the procedure done on the tooth.  If it isn't, then you should definitely go back to your dentist to get it completed.  If the symptoms persists or worsen, I would strongly encourage you to go back to your dentist to get it checked out again.
