Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Hi. I had a wisdon tooth removed yesterday (top right) and during the administration of the Local Anestetic i felt my ear fill up with fluid and i was sooooo dizzy. I could still feel it when the dentist started to pull my tooth out and he gave me something else, didn't explain anything to me at all but my mouth feels ok, not too bad but my ear still feels full of fluid and i cant hear properly and it aches a bit and its popping and im sure its not right, can anyone help please?

A sensation of fluid in your ear?  Is it similar to a fish bowl phenomenon in which it feels like your head is in a fish bowl?  Sometimes the TMJ can exhibit some unusual symptoms because of the anatomy of the nerves that enter in that area.

I would recommend treating the TMJ for any problems.  Its possible that the surgery could have strained the TMJ and is causing some symptoms.  Place an ice pack in the area and stretch out the muscles regularly.  Also, you may want to take some anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen (if its safe for you, unfortunately I don't know your medical history).  You should consult your dentist if you continue to have problems after a week.

I would say wait and watch...Patients usually get dizzy with the thought of getting tooth pulled/seeing needles and/or blood/instruments. "Ear full of fluid" - can't expalin that symptom but popping is some thing related to the temporomandibular joint. Since it was the wisdom tooth I'm assuming opening mouth too wide might give you that symptom. Local anesthesia administration ONLY takes away the pain but you may still feel the procedure like lots of pressure/holding the tooth with the instrument or tooth movement while coming out. Everything but no pain. Give it 4-5 days for your body to recover from the procedure if the symptoms do not subside visit your dentist to get his opinion.
