I use the crest 3d whitening strips daily. I was wondering if it will affect my enamel or teeth in another way?

Um relax. first of all its her lips that got damaged and u didn't see how bad the damage was so shut up and second who are u to go and talk about deaf people and burn victims , relax , this is about the white strips its not about injuries , its a serious flaw that a person had to go through. Its not like you're perfect and u don't worry about anything so honestly shut the **** up.

She's mad because she trusted a product with her life and it did damage. ANYONE would be horrified if they were whitening their teeth then all of a sudden their lip was marked and nothing could fix it. Have some respect.it may not be you but its her and her body. Let's say you got a product that helped your hair, then out if no where your hair was falling out?and the company didn't put side effects or what could happen on the box...I'm pretty sure you'd be mad. She's venting leave her alone.

Omfg your bitching about a spot on your lip?! There are people who don't have limbs or eyes, people who are deaf or have their skinned burned for life and you are the one who has a horrid flaw?! No wonder a lawyer wouldn't take your case, its a waste of time, this **** wouldn't even go to trial. Hope this comment didn't traumatize you even more, with all your "mental anguish" and all, but for real, get the **** over it

I used Crest Whitestrips Classic in 2007. They never put in their directions to protect your lips with Vaseline before using the product and because they didn’t, I’m ruined for life.

I always prided myself on my naturally beautiful red lips and I never used lipstick in my life. I bought their product to whiten my teeth and followed their directions perfectly. I even wiped my mouth of saliva with Kleenex, when I used their product, so none would get on my lips. But somehow when I used it for the second time on my bottom teeth, some did get on my bottom lip- although I don’t know how.

After 30 minutes, I took the strip out, rinsed and to my horror, saw a white spot near the center of my bottom lip. I couldn’t believe it! I tried not to panic and washed it and thought that after a few days it would go away. It didn’t. Then I thought it would go away in a few weeks. It didn’t. Then I called various people in the medical field, who said that even though the Whitestrips might have bleached it, my body would slough it off and my lip would return to normal color in a few weeks to a few months. It didn’t. I consulted a couple lawyers and they said to not even think of trying to sue Crest, as they are too big and too powerful a company to fight and I’d never win. So then I got desperate and even went to a couple healers, but no one and nothing can bring the color back to my lip.

I’m stuck with a very visible white spot on the bottom of my lip and I’m devastated about it. People tell me to get over it, to cover it with lipstick and go on with life. But that’s beyond the point. This company had a responsibility NOT to put this product on the market if it caused things like this to happen and they were suppose to put the warning in their instructions when it came out and I would have followed it. Now I’m permanently destroyed and no one can fix me. The mental anguish that I go through on a daily basis when I look in the mirror and see that it will never go away and knowing that I have to live with this horrid flaw that was cause from using their product, is more than a terrible price to pay for trusting in their product and company.

How often are you feeling teeth sensitivity?  If you are constantly having your teeth feel sensitive even not while eating or drinking anything then I would definitely let your dentist know this but there may not be much he or she can do at this point.  But doesn't hurt to ask your dentist.  But if you have stopped using them for a while and don't have any sensitivity at all then I'd say you are ok, just don't use the Crest White strips anymore if you have used them at least 14 days no matter how unsatisfied you are with the results. I am no medical expert but this has been what I have been told by medical experts.  Hope this helps.  Best of luck to you!

They are enamel safe when used as directed...not safe if over-used.  These whitening strips are not made to be used everyday and that's why you only get so many strips per box, then you're not supposed to used them again for 6 months. You're going to lose the enamel on your teeth if you don't stop doing this.....please read the box...it states either to use them for 14 days or for 5 and then you stop! In 6 months you can use them again, but not day after day.

These are only to be used for two weeks, and I believe they have one that you can use for 5 days.  Using them longer will affect your tooth enamel badly.  When used as directed they're safe, but to expose your teeth to them on a regular daily basis, non-stop will eventually weaken the enamel on your teeth...and when it's gone, it's gone.  You can use the whitening strips twice a year, but then just use a whitening toothpaste in between this time.  Your teeth can only get to a certain degree of white...our natural color.  Some people have whiter teeth than others, so no amount of whitening strips or whitening toothpastes will make them any whiter than their natural color.  Don't destroy what you have with these whitening strips, use a soft brush and never brush too hard...that also is hard on our enamel.  Avoid toothpastes with baking soda....this is very abrasive.  Hope this helps.
