Wisdom tooth removed and half tounge sensation gone

Hi, My sister removed her wisdom teeth last one and half month back. Her half tongue had lost sensation and when she does more talking then her tongue gets heavy. Her doctor said she mihgt will take 6 months to recover. I am really worried, Will it be recovered..? Is there anyone who has same problem and who recovered or not recovered  from this..?

Please share some information with me..I am really panic...
Thank you

Sometimes nerves can be damaged during tooth removal.  If the sensation has not returned within 6 months, it is unlikely it will ever return.  Even seeing a neurologist won't help.  Once a nerve is damaged or severed (cut) it won't repair itself.  She may have to do speech therapy to learn how to talk for long periods of time again.
