gums bleed ALOT

Ok so I'm 16 weeks pregnant and I know they say being pregnant makes your gums more sensitive and what not but mine bleed A LOT I brush my teeth daily and use mouth wash on occasions. But everytime I brush I bleed a lot. And also when I was attempting to drink a milkshake the other day which was really thick there was blood in the straw. What could this be?

You can try switching to a soft manual toothbrush.  I don't think the toothpaste will have too much of an effect but you can try it and see if it helps.  Try to spend more time with being gentle but thorough with your brushing and flossing.  A dental cleaning would help too

Also my tooth brush is one of the strong vibrating ones, the bleeding has chilled out recently but hasn't stooped, I asked my OB about it and she told me to try using a sensitive tooth paste and a normal extra soft tooth brush. Do you think that would help? I brush twice daily.

Pregnancy gingivitis?  Try to improve your oral hygiene and see a dentist for a visual checkup and cleaning.  X-rays are optional and usually not necessary unless there appears to be a serious problem.
