When I was reading your comment it sounded like I could have written it. I have the exact same thing except it is on the right side of my tongue. I know it is horrible to cut it off, but I have done the same thing (actually about 3 times now) it keeps growing back, but when it is there it is just so bothersome. It doesn't hurt or anything, it is just really annoying. I was recently at the dentist and showed it to him, he had no idea what it was and said to just leave it alone and in 6 months he would check it again. I am not a smoker however, so it is very unlikely that is the cause, well, for me at least. If anyone has been diagnosed with anything who has the same condition please let me know.
I know it was stupid to use those nail clippers. I am a nurse. We are the worst about self diagnosis. I spoke with a general surgeon in the hospital. He said that I should see an ENT. Today I ran into our premier ENT doc. He told me that it could be a papilloma, cancer or simply inflammation. I do have a 7 year smoking history when I was in my 20,s. That was 26 years ago. He gave me a prescription for a swish and spit low dose steroid to attempt. If it does not go away I will have him cut it off, "surgically" and under sterile conditions.
I don't recommend using nail clippers to cut anything other than your fingernails and toenails. You should have a dentist or an oral surgeon examine your tongue, especially if the "white bump" comes back. It is difficult to diagnose without seeing the lesion.
do u went to any specialists??? or did u try to use any mouthwash or medications???
