oral dilema

Hi, I have developed thickened skin inside my mouth on the cheeks and around the inside of my lips.  I am not a smoker and haven't changed any of my oral hygiene habits.  I am on singulair @ hs and take immitrex prn.  It is not irritating but the patches are swollen and reddish.  There are no white spots or skin sloughing.  My tongue is sore around the perimeter but there are no sores.  This developed about a month ago.  My mouth dries out very easily now.  Can you give me any indication if this is a fungal infection or something else.

I have thought about going to the dr. although I haven't much faith in my own.  I have done a little more research and it could be oral lichen planus although my patches inside the cheeks are red not white which is possible though rarer.  It is actually better today.  There is no cure and few treatments, one being corticosteriods and I would like to avoid that.  It is more annoying than anything, especially the dry mouth part. It feels awkward to talk at times.
