severe facial pain

Two weeks ago i had my 4 bicuspids removed to make room in my mouth. I felt fine after the procedure just a slight soreness in my left jaw bone. A week after extraction I had braces applied. That night i was miserable the first night (but who isnt). The next 2 days i felt fine just a little sore in my left jaw. Well third day after braces the pain became worse. Now I have had braces on for a week and im having the worse pain possible that originates in my jaw and shoots up to my scalp. My pain is in my lower left jaw, to my ear, then to my cheek bone, then to my scalp. I have the pain for a couple minutes then i will be fine for a few min to 30 min then it happens again.6
I called the surgeon and he would not see me but said it is my braces. I've never had braces before but I've never heard anyone say they had this much pain. What is wrong? Who should I see? Help..

It sounds more likely that its the extractions but usually the worse pain is in the first few days and it gradually get better afterwards rather than the reverse.

I called the orthodontist and they are going to see me tomorrow. I honestly feel like its not the braces. I know Ive never had them before but I just feel like something is wrong with the healing where i had teeth pulled.

Have you given your orthodontist/dentist a call?  It does seem weird that you would have that much severe pain after placement of the braces.  Perhaps they should remove the wire and relieve some of the pressure to see if that helps.  The braces themselves shouldn't cause pain just by being on your teeth.
