Sounds good! Hope you find some relief with this regimen. Let us know how it's working, okay?
Thanks for your helpful reply, my psychiatrist prescribed the Axit and my GP the Xanax, that is why I was unsure and wanted to check about using them together. I have now seen my GP and she says it is okay.
Thanks again
Hello and welcome!
Axit, or Mirtazapine (also known as Remeron) is a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA). The only drug interaction for those two meds is a possibility of an increase in drowsiness, dizziness, mental fog type side effects. Did the same doctor Rx both meds for you? If not, you MUST be sure that your doc is aware of everything you're taking.
Also, are you in therapy? Meds can be very helpful in controlling the symptoms of depression, but therapy is a must on top of that. The concurrent use of therapy AND meds together will greatly increase success rates in managing depression.
Best of luck, let us know how you're doing!
