Best med?

Just joining. Amongst several other diagnosis', I finaly saw a psych that prescribed zoloft for depression. I took this years ago with great results but remember, or so it seems, that it was hell getting off of. Is there anything new out there?

I take lexapro ( it is going generic and will cost less this month (YEH!).  I have to admit I am not too good at tapering  and have been known to just stop...(I know..bad) but, have never had a problem with that one when I do it.  I am not saying do what I do..but I am saying possibly it will be easier to get off of when you want.  I like it because it works more quickly for me than the other AD's.  I felt better in less then a week for moderate depression and found it still works after 8 years.  I would talk to your doctor about other options.

Welcome to Medhelp. All of these meds can be hard to stop. Some are easier than others. The best thing to do is work with your Dr on a tapering plan when you are ready to quit taking it. It's never a good idea to just stop these meds suddenly.
