Does Antidepessnts lower the libido

I have ben depressed almost all of my life.  I am now 42 just last Sunday.  Bdeen ttaking all kinds of antidepressants to help stabilize my moods.  I just tried taking my life just recently and was admitted to a local hosp.  I also take Ativan and other medications.  Is it true they can lower the sex drive and also make you feel as though you don't feel like doing anything.  I isolate a lot in fear of rejection.  I am involved in a 4 yr relationship, but the sexual relationship has just about disappeared.  Can anyone help me?

This is very true, AD lower you sex drive completely; I have been on Paxil for 3 months and also asked many people who are on AD and almost 100% told me there is no 'motivation' for sex at all...

Honestly, you have a lot on your plate before thinking about sex.  It's hard to tell if a med has caused it, but I can tell you deep depression will kill your libido, especially if you've been suicidal. I'm on a myriad of meds, and my libido is great. So hopefully you can get stable again, and become more balanced, then once that's happened, I would address this with your psychiatrist. I hope you feel better soon.
