Can I get off Wellbutrin XL 150 cold turkey?

It has substantially worsened my anxiety to a point where I'd have a panic attack daily, gave me terrible headaches, light headedness and dry mouth, I've taken only 15 pills and want to get off.

I didn't take the pill today and feel great!  A day without a headache feels great!  I was a bit agitated at first and ate more then usual, but that's OK.

I wonder if it'd be OK to quit cold turkey?  Anyone tried it?

Thank you!

Well, I did call him and he said to take one every other day. Today is the 2nd day I haven't taken any Wellbutrin, despite of what he said, and I felt great! Calm and in-control, not freaking out over everything and no racing heart either. Headache persists but much better then on that drug.

I'll try to stay off of it as long as I don't experience any withdrawal side effects.

Thanks

Call your doctor and ask, it's always better to be safe than sorry.  Wellbutrin is a stimulating antidepressant, and may just be the wrong medication for you.  Unfortunately, finding the right one is often trial and error, but when we do get it right, it's well worth it.  You obviously need something, so work closely with your doctor on this.  Knowing how you are reacting to this medication will help him in determining a better one for you, plus he needs and wants to know. Take care.
