Can Wellbutrin help my side effects?

I've been taking paxill for about six months now and it's really affected my sex drive a lot. I tried to taper off cold turkey about a month ago but the withdrawals were so bad that I had to stay on it until I sit down with my doctor and work on a taper off regimen. I've been taking wellbutrin for 3 days because that's supposed to counter act the sexual side effects of the paxill but, I haven't noticed any difference yet. Can anyone tell me how long it might take for the wellbutrin to help bring back some of my sex drive? Or tell me if it ever did bring it back? I know this is kind of an odd question but, I'm really frustrated and go to see my doctor in July so if any one has any experience with this  just let me know. Thanks!

Thanks for the information! I'm going to have to learn to be more patient with the medication that my doctor prescribes me.I really want to get off the paxill as soon as I can but I'm going to wait to see my doctor before I try to quit cold turkey again. Thanks Again!

Wellbutrin is supposed to help your sex drive due to it's action of inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine which would suggest increased libido and energy. With any antidepressant there is a therapeutic lag and it can take up to 4 weeks and sometimes more to see full effects.

Unlike amphetamines, Wellbutrin won't affect you during it's therapeutic effect and half-life. It will affect you over time by modifying your brain chemistry.

Thanks for the feedback. Let me know if you have any changes. I'm wondering if I could just take the wellbutrin without the paxill. I'll let you know of any changes good or bad if I notice anything.

i have been o  prozac since marchand it killed my sex drive so dr added wellbutrin sr in on the 10th of june and so far i notice nothing,will give it a couple more weeks
