Yeah I agree with what Hensley said. So just to let you know, I started getting the symptoms at the age of 13, but I went through a hell of allot, things like an abusive dad, bullying - I once got beaten up so bad that now I walk with a perminant limp in my left leg...
So yeah it is possible for you to get depressed, but it takes ALLOT for someone to get depressed at an age such as yours.

I could give you about 25 severe symptoms that I suffer as a result of this condition.
That would take forever to explain. In short I guess the best way to describe it is that you will literally feel as if your going insane.
This is the catch because in reality your not actually going insane, but you will feel like that in a VERY powerful way. Your mind will be filled with unknown fear, dread, torment, and doom so powerful that it will feel like your head is exploding.
I don't mean to freak you out by saying that, but I believe in being honest about this condition. It is no joke and it can be that bad and even worse.
It also depends a lot on the actual severity of the condition. Some people can suffer from Major depression and anxiety in a milder form than what I described.
For many of us this is not the case and it can be severe and VERY difficult to treat.
I was also very young when I first started to experience symptoms of this condition, but that may not be the case with you. You could just be experiencing a rough time right now. 16 is a confusing age. It's like being caught in between childhood and adulthood and hormones are going wild.
This could all pass as you mature. If you think it is getting to a point where your feeling severly disturbed then you should seek proffessional help. If anything just to get counsuling to help you adjust better.
I would advise against starting any antidepresant medication therapy at your age. For unknown reasons antidepressants can have a very volital and negitive effect on anyone under 19.
Not sure why this is, but there is a lot of medical evidence to this fact.
