New to Effexor - side effects

Hi everyone
I started taking Effexor yesterday... so far ive notice my pupils are dialated, little light headed, jaw clinching and last night i took 2 temazapam before bed and managed to sleep straight away but woke up 4 hrs later and couldnt get back to sleep for ages and was so restless. Also my stomach is a little off.
I was just wondering how long should i expect to have these side effects for?
Thanks :)

You may experience side effects for several weeks ... it's not unusual.
If it gets too aweful let your doctor know , the dose may need to be decreased until you can tolerate it.
Re temazepam , my doctors have told me it only works for 4 hours , so you might try splitting the two tablets - one before bed and one when you wake up.  It's trial and error.
You are not alone  : )

Try to relax. The side effects always seem to come instantly, but you may have to wait much longer to get the benefits. Monitoring things is OK,buif you can somehow learn to relax & just wait for the 'good times' you'll be fine. How you relax is your choice. For me it's exercise ~ long runs, regular schedule, music, reading & having a good wife! Hope you manage to find a way soon. I've been on meds for well over 20 yrs, now will continue on them for life.Much better than relapses. You may be much luckier & have just one episode. Hope so for your sake. Best wishes.
