Does twitching while taking abilify have long term effects

I've been on abilify and lexapro for bipolar depression and I have random twitches all over my body. Plus it's not helping with the depression. The mood swings have gotten better but even Getting out of bed is hard. Like a heavy weight dragging me down. Any suggestions on what to do?

If you've been on the meds for a long time, then it sounds like they're not the right ones for you.  Abilify can be very difficult, but so can Lexapro for some.  Two drugs present two sets of side effects rather than one set.  Are you actually bipolar, or diagnosed with depression and some bipolar subtype, because if it's the latter, you're really just suffering from depression.  It might be easier on your mind to think of it like that.  But the key here is that you say it's really not helping, and if you're newly trying one or both of these meds, you need more time, but if you've been on them for awhile then you need to look elsewhere for help.  Sometimes, and this is if you want to stay on the meds, these kinds of meds affect magnesium absorption, and some find relief for the muscle aches and spasms and tics by supplementing with it.  Take it with a meal apart from when you take your meds or before bedtime and see if it helps, but only assuming you're going to stay on these meds.
