Are you actually bipolar, or diagnosed with depression and some bipolar subtype, because if it's the latter, you're really just suffering from depression. It might be easier on your mind to think of it like that. But the key here is that you say it's really not helping, and if you're newly trying one or both of these meds, you need more time, but if you've been on them for awhile then you need to look elsewhere for help. Sometimes, and this is if you want to stay on the meds, these kinds of meds affect magnesium absorption, and some find relief for the muscle aches and spasms and tics by supplementing with it. Take it with a meal apart from when you take your meds or before bedtime and see if it helps, but only assuming you're going to stay on these meds.
