Hi, I don't know the answer to your question but I understand because I just went from Paxil to Lexapro and am feeling miserable. I think it's due to Paxil withdrawel and the Lexapro doesn't seem to be working for me. Have you ever gone from one antidepressant to another? The only reason why i switched is because I was having inappropriate sinus tachycardia (rapid heart beat) which is not life threatening but terribly scary so the psychiatrist switched my meds and now I feel worse mentally than before so I think I'll go back to the Paxil. I appreciate any thoughts you have on this. I was told that Lexapro is a better medicine than Paxil but I'm definitely feeling worse. I was on 10 mg Paxil doing well mentally and now on 15 mg Lexapro and feeling terrible terrible. I feel extreme panicky feelings and depressed. Thanks.
Hello. There are a lot of variables to consider, including dosage, length of use, and other medications. There are those that experience these symptoms for weeks or months, and the only thing that appears to minimize them, is taking a "maintenance" dosage to prevent them. In this respect, effexor is much like heroin, it makes you feel better for a while, but when you try to stop you get sick, and have become dependent on it. We can thank the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry for this and other inadequately tested drugs. Best wishes, GM
