depression

How do you know if you are depressed? Almost everyday I feel or say that I am depressed. Mysurroundings everyday do not help me, I feel stressed over school, and my family bugs me. My friends always have some sort of drama going on, and I am very self-concious. I wouldn't say that I am so depressed that I want to kill myself, but I always talk about that... saying kill me now, I'll jump infront of a car, jump off a bridge... etc. But I then realize that I wouldnt even have the guts to do it, I don't like seeing people or animals in pain, how could I put myself through it? Anyone input?

I think when we woke up in the morning with the same feelings as yesterday, as if our mind is wondering what makes this day a different from yesterday? Lost our motive to pursue anything. Then, we are depressed. I would suggest turn back from the habit/routine that once changed our lives even for awhile, from here, lets make it a bit strong stronger this time to love to live once more. If you are confident enough to do it yourself, then you are not that far from recovery, otherwise, its alright to us from people we trust for a push. After all everybody would have our downs. but not everyone will stand at the same time. As for me, I always think, that there are people suffering bitter than me. Its alright to live in fantasy for awhile make use of this time to strengthen our will. When your think you can once more face reality go for it. Tomorrow may be a brighter and fruitful day to live.

Suggest that you make an appointment with a Doc.Psych. Suicide on your mind indicates you're not happy with yourself. Never hesitate to ask for help if you feel troubled & that you are unable to gain control of your thoughts. You are far from unique ~ lots on here have experience of similar feelings. You can get back to your 'normal' state, but you may need help now.

I think you are depressed to a serious point when you are unable to eat or sleep and unable to carry on your daily functions....You should try saying positive things to yourself and you will find that you will soon be feeling better..Just refuse to have any negative self talk...I hope you feel better soon!!
