Fetzima

Hello! Anyone else on the new med. Fetzima? Wow! What a difference it makes! Finally something that is for anxiety AND depression and with minimal side effects! Yay! No weight gain, and increased energy! It's classification is an SNRI, not an SSRI. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this or currently taking it? Yankeegal

Hi,

I'm brand new to this so please bear with me if I go on a little long with this.  I was taking the generic versions of Effexor and Wellbutrin, which worked for a while, but more recently it was mostly just getting me to work and that was about it.  My doctor decided to try the Fetzima, so she cut my Effexor dosage in half, kept the same dosage of the Wellbutrin, and added 20 miligrams of Fetzima.  That was for 4 days, and then the Fetzima was upped to 40 miligrams. I've been lucky in that I haven't had a lot of withdrawal symptoms from coming off the Effexor, but the Fetzima has not kicked in yet.  In total I've been on the Fetzima about 3 weeks, about 2 1/2 weeks with full dosage.  If anyone has a few minutes to reply to this, what was your experience for how long it took to kick in?  Has it really made a difference?  I know results can vary, but I'm curious.  Mine may be taking longer because I've been on medication for over 20 years, so possibly that might be a factor in the drug not having any effect yet?  Any resplies appreciated.
