Depression and being sick.....

Has anyone experienced their depression coming back if they catch some sort of bug? I had a sore throat and muscle aches, soreness and my depression seems to come back, even though I take antidepressants, I get lethargic, fatigue , no motivation to do anything and I sleep all day, I feel very drowsy. It seems like this happens every week or so, like I have a bad immune system. I don't remember feeling depression when I was sick when I was younger.

From experience I have the same effect. It seems that any kind of virus causes a problem with depression. After your body has fought off the virus it will go through a period of depression, this is normal (for BP). Sorry but you just have to bear with it and it will pass. It is your body adjusting and while it is uncomfortable don't panic that you are sliding into depression again. The anti depressants help but that is a body type depression not mental and it takes time. I hope I have been some help and good luck. Try not to stress yourself out about this...You have people to support you...
