Head trauma and depression

I was in an abusive marriage and was kicked repeatedly in the head causing my head to feel sore and very swollen. Could this be part of the reason I have suffered with depression for years?

How sad that you had to endure this.  But I think all that abuse alone can be causing your depression.  It's a very difficult thing to try and overcome and I'm sure there are many lingering memories of that time.  Talk to a specialist about all of this, it may be one or the other......or both.  I hope you are at a better place and time in your life, nobody deserves that kind of treatment.  Do seek help so you can live the happy and fulfilling life you deserve.  Take care and best wishes.

I was told by my dr's that yes head trauma can be a cause of mental problems because of something to do with the nerves and neuroconducters (?).  It can also cause cognitive problems, memory problems and some other things so please talk to your doctor about this.

I'm sorry you've had to go through this; if you haven't go talk to someone and get help if you're going through depression or other mental health issues.  I wish I had gone years ago but ignored my problems.

Sorry to hear about such shocking abuse that you went through at the hands of a monster. You know it could be a reason but you can overcome the depression by distracting your mind and thought process and keep yourself busy or occupied with hobbies or activities. You deserve happiness in your life because only god knows the hell you must have gone through.Take care of yourself and i wish you all the best.
