Hello Again!!......Wellbutrin?

Hello folks.  I've not posted on here for some time.  Just needed some time away I suppose.   Since I last posted, I quit taking Prozac (without my dr's orders).  It was not helping in the sense it was dulling me.  And not allowing me to bring to surface the things I need to.  However, I also am cognizant of slipping back into a major depression.  After all these years, you recognize the signs.

So I asked my dr about an alternate medication and she suggested Wellbutrin (to also help deal with the libido and weight gain issues on the others).  So far, I'm liking it.  I'm on a very low dose and have had minimal side effects.  As well, I seem to be a lot more assertive--in a good way.  Not sure if it is the drug--but I'm not complaining.

I feel a need to share and care again.  Talk to you later.

Hey Creston! It's good to hear from you again! I'm glad you're doing ok.
I've heard good things about Welbutrin too. Actually, that's what the child psychiatrist just prescribed for my daughter along with the Zoloft that she's been taking the last couple of months. He prescribed it because she's been so tired in school and he said the Welbutrin can give her a little more energy while still working alongside the Zoloft. We'll see how it works. I have to go tomorrow and fill the prescrption. Let us know how it works for you and I'll let you know how my daughter's doing!
Take care! Keep in touch.

thank-you for the posts.  Hi Happy2girls.  How are you?  I appreciate you saying hello and remembering me--very kind of you.  How are your kids?  Hope all is well.

Hey MJ,

Yep, very human.  I'm wondering if an increase in dose (to the steady state dose) would mean the drug will even do more good or it could be I'll have unwanted side effects--double edged sword.  I see you are from MN.  ND here.  I sure cant wait until spring!

Take care

Creston

I hope it works for you. That's the drug they have me on too and on a low dose.  I felt pretty good on Remron, but it caused me to gain weight...  So I had to get off it. I don't feel quite the same as I did on Remron, but it is better than when I was without anything. Overall I think I am assertive with the things I want to be assertive in but not as much with the things I'm not interested in. That sounds very human, doesn't it? ;)
