I had severe depression before xanax& those hardcore narcotics didnt help either. I had selexia. It never made me drowsy so I could function& still start to feel better. Ask your doctor for a non-drowsy or non-narcotic
Have u ever try meditating?
Thanks all for all your comments, feels good to share my thoughts since I don't feel anyone close to me undersrands. I have never seen a therapist but have been advised to, maybe something I really need to look into. I stopped taking any of the meds I mentioned about a month and a half ago and am only on Desmopressin for DI, unfortunately I don't know which type of DI I have, but I know it took doctors a very long time to diagnose. Not a huge fan of opening up with anyone and don't know if talking about what I don't even know is the problem will hell, it's almost like a waste of time, I could be wrong though.
"How can I get better?" That's a great question. It says a lot about you and it's the first step one takes towards getting better. What I would suggest is speak with your general physician or perhaps your OB/GYN. Tell them your issue and ask if they know anyone in the mental health field. Chances are, they will refer you. if they won't, research all of the choices locally. its amazing how many opportunities there are that nobody really knows about. Your hospital is often a great resource for information like this.
If that won't work and you're having a rough go, go to the emergency room, have a talk with your husband and get him on board with helping you help yourself.
In my experience, I found that doing nothing led to more issues. When I became an active participant in my own life, things started to get better. Baby steps at first and you get to celebrate all of them. After a while big positive things start to happen.
I'm glad you're reaching out. I hope all of the information everyone is giving you helps. I want you to know that you can contact me if you want...
It sounds like you either had post-partum depression, which is a sexual hormone problem, or you got the diabetes while you were pregnant, or maybe even both. You didn't say what type of diabetes insipidus you have -- there are 4 types. Pregnancy can cause one type. Mental illness can cause another type. Medication can cause it. Depends on the type. If this disease, or a hormonal imbalance, caused your depression and/or anxiety, drugs for chronic anxiety or depression won't necessarily cure it. Also, all three drugs you were on are "downers," meaning they force the body to be sedated, which can increase or cause depression. Gaining a lot of weight doesn't help, and you don't say what you eat, whether you're getting your electrolytes or not as they're a factor in your illness. In other words, working on your physiological problems might cure or greatly improve your mood since they can be a factor in it.
Anxiety and depression feed off each other in a vicious circle so worrying or being depressed about the disease can increase any or those issues that you had before. There is a difference between clinical depression and just feeling unhappy though, so it is important to figure what your problem is/was although sometimes the whole circle gets so confusing you can't even tell by yourself..
Have you tried therapy to get to the root issues in order to figure if there are ways to feel different?
