High levels of stress and anxiety can cause the rocking back and forth motion,we also see it in patients who are suffering withdrawl symptoms from coming off their meds.

Not that I've ever heard of. Did you just start a new antidepressant? If so, maybe it has'nt started working yet and your doing the rocking to keep yourself calmed down or occupied.
