I need to change my behavior

Here's what I think happens (based on 16 years since bipolar diagnosis): I'm going along fine, planning meals, shopping for food, cooking and eating relatively as needed. Then I think some kind of symptom starts - depression and OCD combined maybe but to keep it simple here - depression symptoms of getting overwhelmed by planning and shopping and wanting  to put in the effort to take care of myself. Then I end up with "no food in the house" and I'm not cooking, I'm skipping meals and then when I get hungry I start panicking and eat whatever is available (worse case is McDonald's) and then start just compulsively relying on that source until I'm sick and truly in a depression which may not have gotten so bad if I had been eating to take care of myself....

ARRG. I am really frustrated!!! and it looks like this BEHAVIOR is tripping off when my depressive chemistry begins to get overwhelmed by the otherwise simple actions of caring for myself.

What can I do to keep taking care of myself when this cycle kicks in?!? ARRG!!

Have you noticed a pattern does any one thing trigger it off?If you are looking after yourself and then you are not, what happened just before, be your own detective, make notes of what you do ,who you speak to, what you eat and Drink etcIf it happens dont panic its easily correctable, go and buy something nourishing and treat your self, do something that makes you feel good, accept this happens and dont be too hard on your self.
