PREGNANCY AND DEPRESSION.

hello everybody. I am 42 years old, and i am now 1 and a half month pregnant. I was on effexor 75 mg for almost 7 months. Now that I am pregnant, my doctor stopped the effexor gradually and it is been now 5 days that I stopped completely the effexor. I have bad withdrawl symptoms. like anxiety, I cannot sleep at night, mood swings, dizziness, and i cannot sleep at night. can I switch to prozac ?. my doctor's opinion not to take any anti-deppresants medications for at least the first 3 months of pregnancy are completed. my psychologist's opinion was to wait for 3 months and then he can switch me prozac 20 mg. I am really confused, and do not know what to do, and what is the right opinion...can u help please...thanks

I would suggest getting another medical opinion and maybe even do a little searching on the web.  I am a man but I thought my wife was not allowed to have hardly any meds when she was pregnant.  To me it makes sense to allow the baby to develop before taking any type of medication like that but again, not sure.  Sorry I am not much help.  Congrats on the pregnancy and I hope you get some relief soon.
