My Mom has been on it for a few years and she loves it. It certainly did improve her depression (after my Dad died, especially).
I think it took her a while to get used to it, but once she did, she felt so much better. She has not complained of any major side-effects (to me) on it.
Starting Lexapro is the hardest part, if you can get through the terrible feeling that occurred for me and others I know for about the first 3 days and more mild symptoms for the first week, you will be fine. good luck
I have been on Lexapro for about six weeks, it takes awhile to work. It has taken the edge off my depression and anxiety. But some anti-depressants do not work the same for everybody. I was recommended another anti-depressant prior to this and it made my symptoms worse. But don't be affaird to start it.
