Troubling finding a psychiatrist that really cares

I had a great psychiatrist for years til 2014 when he closed his practice. Since then I had one doc who was purely giving me prescriptions after prescriptions for my bipolar II. None of them were psychiatric drugs and I was getting severely depressed and am getting worse. I had found one doc and thought she would be great for me but on the second visit she seemed very frustrated with me, hardly did not make any eye contact with me and told me that I was "a hard patient" because the drugs on the market don't seem to work for me. I also have had about 30 ECTs. She got up twice from her desk and banged her hands on her desk and said, "Do you know how hard it is to be a psychiatrist?" She kept asking me why I was taking Depakote and Klonopin and that I should ask my prior doc why I was on them. There was no talking to her. She told me that she didn't know what to do with me. I stayed quiet and let her rant and she then handed me a script and said, "I'll see you in 2 weeks." I left and vowed never to come back to her. I went home and just cried. I have more anxiety than ever and my depression is worse than ever.
Don't know what to do now.

I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this right now. The recent psychiatrist sounds like she should lose her license for talking to you like that. Blaming the patient for not reacting to certain medications like you hope for is highly idiotic and only causes more harm to you which is the opposite of the job description!
I have a friend who has ADHD that moved from the northern part of California to SoCal for school and during her first 6 months here she also was struggling to find a psychiatrist and ended up having to ration her medications which really stressed her out because, well if you can't focus long enough to read one sentence of a textbook then college is exponentially harder than normal. I myself suffer from depression and am currently looking for a new psychiatrist as well.
Does your insurance have a website with a list of providers that take your insurance? If not, there are a lot of websites you can check like this one:
http://www.healthgrades.com/provider-search-directory/search?q=Psychiatry&prof.type=provider&search.type=PracticingSpecialty&method=&loc=New+York&pt=&isNeighborhood=&locType=%7Cstate%7Ccity%7Czip&locIsSolrCity=false
It's easy to use as well, and you can specialize what insurance the doctor takes, what their specialty is, etc. Just a warning, make sure to ask on the phone if they still accept your insurance because the website is not updated as frequently as one could hope for.
Hope this helps! <3

Still having no luck finding a psychiatrist. I am using meds that did not work that I had kept for instances like this. I feel totally abandoned and alone.
Struggling to make it through each day. You get treated when you are on Medicare because the docs are not paid the same as "cash only" patients and do not want to handle your case or if they do they don't want to fully engage with your situation which means really trying to help you. Talk for a few minutes, get a new script and off you go. I am doing everything on my part, taking B-complex vitamins, etc., exercising, reading articles and books that pertain to my condition, and counseling.
