What didn't I like? Don't really know, probably just the same things that depression and most meds bring. Being tired all the time. Dry mouth. Feeling sick if I don't eat right on time. This is common to many meds for me too though. Coming off the first time was terrible but it's not an issue given the benefits while I was on it.
What did I like? It saved my life is all. I was suicidal, had been for 3 months, stopped eating, just anxiety and fear 24/7 all that time. Effexor plus lithium stopped that stuff, took 6 weeks for me but I'm told I was in extreme condition. For me not to eat and not even think of it is certainly a big sign.
It's by far the most effective med for both D and anxiety in my experience. Many worry about coming off but I've been on it now for the third time. First time off, bad side effects, second nothing at all, third, still on it!
i just changed from zoloft to effexor and im eventually planning to wean myself from all ssris. im starting tobamax and cant wait for the benefits. hopefully it will take the weight off from athe zoloft.
Many years ago my first med change was from Zoloft to Effexor. This was done because the Zoloft after a couple years was no longer working to control my depression and anxiety.
In my case the change was very positive and I got 4 good years from Effexor. A very effective anti-depressant.
