Sleep too much or too little

I wonder how many people are like me. I am reading that alot of people have trouble sleeping with depression. I have the opposite problem and sleep excessively, say about 5 out of 7 days. By excessive I mean around the clock, getting up only to eat a bit and then right back to bed and sleeping.

When I asked my pdoc if she could give me something to help me up and she said she didn't want to give me anything to stimulate me cuase she is afraid it will cause me to go into mania. I had a previous episode of mania which caused me to be suicidal.

But how can she just leave me like I am? Eventually she's going to have to give me something for the depressed sleeping part, right?  By the way I am currently on 15mg Abilify and that is it.

Trust me dear, if something doesn't feel right with this doctor, then something is not right.
Of the 6 Psychiatrists I have had in my life, 2 of them couldn't prescribe medication to save their life. I would sooner trust a chimpanzee to prescribe my meds than the 2 bozos I had.

There are bad Psychiatrist that seriously do not know what they are doing at all.
You may have gotten one.

My advice..... Dump that doctor fast and make calls to find a new Psychiatrist.

You described your symptoms to me and for a doctor to only have you on ONLY high dosage Abilify for those symptoms???? Girl that doctor is a dud.

I feel so bad that you had this experience. Please try to find a good Psychiatrist.

You can't worry about offending your doctor, especially since she isn't doing anything to help you.  This alone would make me switch docs!  I have gone thru periods where all I want to do is sleep, and my doctor told me not to give in to it, and I didn't.  It was very difficult, as I could have laid down in a parking lot and gone to sleep, I was so tired.  I kept fighting it, and eventually I got over it.  A GOOD doctor will know what you need, all you need to do is show up and tell them your problem.

My psych says that I am having an unusual reaction to Abilify, and she wants to wean me off 5mg at a time.
But for some reason that I just don't get she doesn't want to give me anything else. She just keeps telling me to try harder (to get out of bed and wake up). Oh if it were only a matter of trying. I try and try but just do not have the ability to overcome this without some help. I feel like I have just fallen to the wayside and have been left to go under without any help or hope  in the forseable future to pull me up and out of this.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I just was beginning to wonder if I am being unreasonable or something.
How can I ask for what I need when I don't know what I need. And how can I ask for it without offending my psych and her better judgement?

Strange your doctor would have you on just Abilify.
Given your symptoms and condition, I would seriously have to question that doctors ability to treat anyone with a mental illness.

No wonder your lights out all the time. A good doctor would have you on a low dosage energizing antidepressant such as Protriptilyne combined with Lithobid CR at a dosage that brings your blood lithium level to 0.8 to 1.0

The antidepressant would give you lift and that safe blood level of lithium would keep you from going manic. Maybe add a dash of lamictal for safe measure.

Find a new doctor because the one you have is a dud. (No offence)

That's an unusual reaction to Abilify. I only had that reaction to higher amounts of Depakoate or older line antipsychotics like Haldol. Maybe its just your specific reaction to that particular medication. Speak to your psychiatrist about other approved options you haven't tried.
