Hi,
If you've been diagnosed then you must have been prescribed meds, including a mood stabiliser. Is that right? If not the mood stabiliser is the key to controlling BP for many of us. I'm bp2 and it does the trick for me.
As Mammo has said, if you are not seeing a psychiatrist please do so as normal GP's have little chance of helping you with BP. They don't have the expertise or time.
You say the doctors don't want to listen. What don't they want to listen to? You've been diagnosed so someone listened. Often they do not respond to a lot of what we say when we are in anxiety as it is mostly fear rather than fact. The important thing is getting diagnosed, done, and proper treatment.
The sleeping is a problem. Meds can make you so tired but so can depression and all you want is to sleep. I'm like that often but I'm older and can do it as needed.
If you have just started meds the side effects too can be this tiredness and it often picks up after a few weeks.
But do try and remember you are carrying a heavy load. A mother at 18, just diagnosed with BP and depressed too And likely starting meds. That's a lot for your body to deal with and you must learn to give yourself some leeway. If, for example, you had 2 broken legs, would you not feel Ok about not coping with everything? Depression is the same. It disables you often and you can't do what you expect. Don't blame yourself and try learning to live around it if you can.
And give your beautiful new baby a great big hug for me will you? Best medicine for both of you.
You need to see a psychiatrist, the sooner the better. Your life doesn't have to fall apart because of depression, there is lots of help for you. This is the way to get your life back and be a wonderful mother and wife. Please get help.....
