Welbutrin and over sexual thinking

I have depression but no longer like to take drugs to treat it. SSRI's helped me over the years but they outlived their usefullness with side effects and I've developed other statagies for depression. I was taking welbutrin this time more for smoking cestation but I couldn't stop thinking about women in a very sexual way. It was very annoying and I now stopped and feel a lot more in control. Have others experienced this?

Thanks for sharing. Shrinks use welbutrin for SSRI related impotence. Welbutrin made me fell like a sex maniac and Effexor made me feel like a dead man. I think I'm better off without either.

I took Wellbutrin for a while and did very well with it, noticing no side effects but that of keeping me AWAKE AT NIGHT.  But I stuck with it since it totally lifted my depression and, truth be told, probably a lot of my insomnia had to do with stress at the time.

I can't say that Wellbutrin ever caused me to think of women in an overly-sexual way.

By the way, I am on Lexapro now.  All the benefits of Wellbutrin but no insomnia.

I looked up "Wellbutrin and sexuality" on the Internet and got the result that one possible side effect is a "LOSS OF INTEREST IN SEX."
