any luck taking Prozak?

Hi! I have fibromyalgia and my medical doc put me on a low dose of prozak. The first few days I felt great and now after a week, I notice nothing. I hear it takes a while to get in to the system, but do not want to waste my time if It does not help very many people. I have hep C and irritable bowel also. I am so at the end of my rope and of course, I am sure I am depressed, about all the side effects of these things. Any feedback? It may help me. Thks!

Be patient. It will be another 2-3 weeks before you will feel a difference, as this type of medication has to build up in your system.  Docs always start you on the lowest dosage also, so if after 30 days you feel no difference, go back to your doctor and he will up your dosage.  I'm sure he asked you to return anyway at that point to see how you are doing.  I was on Prozac for many years and it worked great.

I used to take Prozac for my severe depression, but after 3 months at a high dosage I gave up on it because it failed to work at all.

Then again most antidepressant are not strong enough to work for my level of depression, so I may not be the best one to ask. Prozac works pretty good for some people.

Either way, you have 5 more weeks to go before you will even know if it's going to work.
