bipolar episodes

i have been diagnosed with bi-polar mania and am taking lamactil 400 mg per day.  does this stop me from having bi-polar episodes or can i still have them from time to time.

i have been seeing  therapist for 3 years now...ever since i was diagnosed and also see a psychiatrist who monitors my medicine... i will have to discuss these episodes with them the next appointment.  thank you for your comment.

I am sorry to say you can still have them.  I am on lamictal and cymbalta and I still have episodes.  They are not magic pills.  If you are having episodes and are worried about them then maybe you should see a therapist for the day to day coping and dealing with these issues.

It depends on the person.  It may be enough alone or you may end up adding medications, changing medications, etc.  It can take a good while to find the right mix for you.
