Different medications work different for a variety of people. Just because it doesn't work for one person doesn't make it "wimpy". It just means they didn't handle it well. All medications work on a trial basis and you will likely have to try a bunch to see what will work best for you. If it works, keep it. If not, you need to see a doctor. The important thing is to not stop something that DOES work because others didn't like it.
Thanks. Meeting with doc tomorrow so will see what she says. may go back to effexor.
Wellbutrin XL 300mg is wimpy... Ive been taking it for 4 years and they have had to up it 5 times. If you tell your dr that you do not feel it working they will either up your dose or try something new. For me I did not like the side effects or the feeling while taking wellbutrin. I am actually going to be changing my prescription. But anyways just speak with your dr. Im sure you both can come up with something.

I suffer from depression, and my doctor did try me on Wellbutrin a while ago. I'm not sure about it being a "wimpy drug", but i do know that i had to stop taking it because of some side effects. i think if i remember right, it made me pretty tired, and also really irritable. i think if i were you, i would try effexor. my mother takes that and she has had really good luck with it.
