Namaste,
You didn't mention what dosages your taking on a daily basis, but Tramadol(Ultram) is known to have some anti-depressant qualities which could contribute to your depression when not taking it.
More likely, and this is based on experience, is that when you discontimue use of these medications you're sufferring withdrawal symptoms, which include depression.
If you're know or feel you are addicted to one or both of these medications there is help available through a variety of sources.
If you want to break this addiction, I would suggest you first speak with the person who prescribes your medications. He/she are in a position to develop a schedule to lower the dosages gradually to eliminate or minimize withdrawal symptoms.
Let us know how you are doing and take care of yourself!!
Michael
I know just how you feel. I have been on Tramadol for 18 months now and I am getting the same feelings. I am always down and the only thing that brings me back is the tramadol, and even then only for an hour or so. Im sorry that i cant offer any advice, I was about to right just what you did. If you want to chat you know were I am. I know I could use it.
Speak to you soon (I hope).
