feeling after quitting.

i was doing ok before my doc put me on lexipro. I found that when i didnt want to take it anymore and lightly take myself off if i would be ok. I dont like how they make me feel like a zombie and how i cant get a good nights sleep anymore since i have been on the meds. I felt like i had the body flu three times worse. I felt like my mind and my head took me a long time to catch up the best way i can describe it is well like being in a dream trying to walk but ur legs and body wont do what you want. I miss my old self the girl who loved to be active, laugh, LIVE!!! my time is now mainly spent in my room all day in bed not having the energy, drive or passion to do the things i used to love. I have had thoughts of killing myself just to get away and be free again. Is this what the rest of my life at 32 looks like? the walking dead? Am i the only one who feels this way when i go off them? is there anyone out there that has beat it without the meds?

You might want to talk to your Dr about a different med. We're all different and respond to these meds differently. If you want to quit antidepressants altogether, then your Dr can give you a tapering schedule to quit the Lexapro.
I am so sorry about your husband. How is he doing? I'm all for natural healing. Anything to help reduce your stress. My daughter goes to yoga, sees a chiropractor, eats very healthy and works out most everyday to help with her anxiety and depression. There are also natural supplements to help. Of course you want to ask your Dr what you can and can't take while you're still on the Lexapro.

Yes still on lexipro 20 mgs for depression. But it does not seem to work. I have gone through a lot of stress over the last couple months with my hubby having cancer for the 2nd time and think that's when the depression hit. I was on something for anxiety but I decided I didn't need them and my doc took me off. I was supposed to go see someone for what I think bdm but haven't yet. I was looking into natural healing for the depression.

How long have you been off the Lexapro? I take it you were on it for depression, or was for anxiety, or both? You can have some rebound depression after stopping an antidepressant. Have you been in any kind of therapy? If not, I would highly recommend it.
