Thanks for the reply and your encouragement.

It's excellent that this medication is working for you, good stuff.  :)

After scouring the internet for information it does seem that Effexor does take longer than most other anti-depressant medications to work but it is very easy to lose hope.

I am on a pretty high does of Effexor XR (375mg) but I thank my lucky stars that it works for me. I know such a high does isn't always great but it is what helps keep me well.  Please give it time to work, you need to be patient with any anti-depressant and I have hear even more so with this medication.

I hope things work out well for you...

Hi all,

I've been on Efexor XL now for exactly 4 weeks and a dose of 225mg for the last 2 weeks.

How long did it take everyone to start feeling any better?

Thanks

Duncan

Worked for me at 75mg, then decreased effect. Now on 150mg and working fine.

I took it, 75mg was not enough for me I took 225mg.

No one can say how it will work for you.  You have to try it for 8 weeks or so to see how it goes, it worked great for me.

It is a slow process and requires patience.  sometimes at the beginning there are bad side effects which wear off with time.

Good Luck to you

All antidepressants work differently on different people. I feel well on Effexor SR combined with klonopin.
