missed dose of effexor and lamictal

Two days ago I forgot to take my effexor XR 150 mg. and lamictal in the morning.  That same day at approx. 4pm, I was just cleaning and feeling fine.  All of a sudden I got real dizzy and started vomiting, I started to sweat, fast heart beat, tingling in hands, legs and around the mouth, shaking and was very weak.  My mom called the paramedics and they took me to E.R.  and  they gave me medication to stop vomiting. I have been on and off effexor for 20 yrs.  and currently have been on these 2 drugs for approx. 4 years.  I've never had this happen, nor do I remember if I was ever this late on a missed dose.  The Dr. doesn't know what it was, he didn't think it was food poisoning because I didn't have diarrhea.  Could this have been the result of being late on my meds?  I am also on Vitorin, HCTZ, and Atenolol that was forgotten that day.

I am also on Lamictal. Effexor, Wellbutrin, Provigil, and Neurontin. These are for my depression and to help stabilize moods. Just this past week I didn't take meds for 6 or 7 days. I really can't remember. I could feel the effects. Mine was uncontrollable crying for no reason. My Effexor is 75mg 4 times a day and Lamictil 200mg 2 times a day. I know what the consequences are if I don't take meds, but when depressed and extremely anxious over nothing in general, I frequently miss a dose. I now set them up in pill box for a week. I didn't experience the symptoms as you did. I am grateful I didn't. Is it possible you had a anxiety attack? I am not belittlind your symptoms. Sounds like that though. This could ocur if you were off meds for a day as whodunit said. I have been on Effexor since the death of my son in Jan. '98  When I almost had a nervous breakdown or maybe I did., that's when pshchiatrist started adding and changing meds. When I take meds depression is a litle better. My memory, confusion and concentration are the pits. He's tried so many meds, but hasn't helped. Fear Alzheimer's.

If you don't, set meds up in pill box for a week and set box on kitchen table or someone where you will see often to remind you. Please don't skip a dose. This is your cybernurse speaking. Let me know how you are doing since you got back on meds. Would like to add you as a friend.

Effexor does start letting you know if you miss doses. Usually one day is OK, for most.

The doc doesn't know and nor do I.

It does seem pretty obvious though doesn't it? 5 meds all missed? Bound to be some problem or another. As long as you get back on track it should be fine. Don't panic about it unless there are ongoing problems whichI suspect there aren't, right?
