seek a psychiatrist..
u need 2 share u feeling with somebody that willing 2 listen n understand u..
do something that can make u happy..
medicine will help u but i dont think it will help u in the long term..
im also depressed..im trying not to rely on medicine..
my apologies for being stupid and not noticing the title "no insurance," in which case, seek medicaid or whatever free insurance there is there. try the breathing, then sam-e. i'm currently off my bi-polar/depression meds and know how you feel; it's hell.
firstly, do you have a psychiatrist? if not, GET ONE!
second, if you DO have one, tell them that whatever you're on isn't working for you. they'll try another drug (or combination) - everyone's body chemistry is different and sometimes it takes a few tries to get the right cocktail for you.
i also have high blood pressure (which you should also be on meds for; at 21 HBP is a very bad sign) and a truckload of stress. i've found a good, and VERY cheap (in fact, free) way to help. it won't work in all situations, but if you have a way to - get into a quiet area that you consider to be comfortable, and simply focus on your breathing. in for five seconds, out for three. completely clear your mind and focus only on your breathing and the counts; 1.. 2.. 3.. etc. this also helps with anxiety.
oh, in case you don't have insurance, there is something you can buy in a local CVS or rite aid - it's called sam-e and it's a "mood enhancer." i took it for a few weeks when i had no more anti-depressants but it is a little pricey (can't remember right now).
