the best depression meds

ok i have been on wellbutrin sr for about 8 mnths now and i am not feeling any better. i found out that this med is not an srii but an snri i need to know which is the best medication for depression in the srii category. i have an eating disorder issues and am highly concerned about weight gain and increased appetite i hate being on meds but sometimes we have to do what we have to do to save our lives. but i will not take a med that  causes this.

i also need a combined med that helps alleviate pmdd. any suggestions. please be honest. i know everyone is different with weight gain or not with meds but ugh i am so confused

Hi,

I am on a combo of zoloft and abilify and am
doing great on it.  I was on wellbutrin as well
and came off of it to see if it was actually doing
anything for me.  I did  not notice any difference
in my symptons afterwards so I assume it
wasnt doing that much.  I have gained around
10 pounds over the years on these meds but
it is worth it to be depression-free.

Wishing you the best,

There is so much information that I would suggest you google SSRI vs SNRI because it will explain everything you need to know in great detail. It goes on to explain what medications do what and how effective they are.

The SSRI family are supposed to be the best for depression, but with any meds,as I'm sure you've heard before it's a trial and error situation until you find the medication that works best for you.If wellburtrin isn't doing it's job then I suggest you talk to your doctor and see what he/she suggests, but never come off your meds instantly as withdrawls can be terrible.Talk to your doctor and find out which meds are best suited to your needs. All the best.
