Can you support your statement ''It damages nerves''? Tramadol is useful at treating nerve pain such a diabetic neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia etc. Yes it's hard to get off it as it's both a SNRI and a opioid.

tramadol can be very addictiing to take over a period of time and causes bad withdrawls that damage nerves so be careful
